The MINI filter removes 7 log (99.99999%) of all bacteria, including Salmonella, Cholera, and E. coli, as well as 6 log (99.9999%) of all protozoa such as Giardia and Cryptosporidium, according to independent testing laboratory Hydration, LLC. These removal rates equal or exceed those of other filter options, and the EPA guidelines allow ten times more protozoa left in the water than the Sawyer MINI filters allow.
