It is recommended that systems using these RO membrane elements rinse the elements for 24 hours prior to first use, to meet NSF/ANSI 58 standards. The first full tank of permeate must be discarded and not used for drinking or food preparation. It is also advised to keep the membranes moist at all times after initial wetting and to rinse out any preservative solution before use.
